Intended audience

PhD candidates. Participants must be registered at one of the NMBU PhD programmes or in another Norwegian university.

Course elements

A three-day course that covers the fundamentals of academic writing for both the social and natural (physical) sciences. Each day consists of lectures and peer-review exercises.

Learning Objectives

To develop writing skills for scientific publications and thesis through lectures, discussions and exercises. 

Day 1  Cohesion – how to make your writing flow

Day 2  Clarity - how to make your writing clear

Day 3 Concision - how to make your writing tight

Preparatory work

Participants should bring a copy of a draft article. The draft can be at any stage in the writing process.
